What is it and why would you benefit from a gap analysis?

·         Very simply it is a formal way of looking at your policies, processes and procedures to determine what you have and haven’t got in place.

·         It can be used at various stages in your Management System development, whether you are going for ISO certification or not.

·         The outcome is used to create an action plan to implement those changes – additions, amendments etc.

Working as a team to highlight gaps and develop an action plan.
Working together as a team.

A Start up or ready to grow business, how can you benefit from a Gap Analysis?

·         Identify what you need to create and how it best suits your business.

·         Aids in identifying the scope of your Management System now and to future proof it.

·         Reviews any current procedures, written or not which work and which do not.

·         A means of bringing your team together at this stage to understand your focus, vision and obtain their engagement and participation for future success.

Management System in place – not really working for you?

·         You have policies, processes etc in place but you are not seeing the benefits.

·         The Gap Analysis identifies where those issues are and how they can be overcome.

Management System in place – ready to go for external auditing or certification?

·         You’ve implemented everything, followed the ISO Standards or readied yourselves for uploading onto a certification portal, are you sure it is all in place and working?

·         Have you fully understood and met the requirements of the Standard and clauses?

·         A Gap Analysis can not only identify those gaps, but also duplication, mixed messages in your Management System(s).

·         Gain the confidence that you are ready, and where questions are asked or doubt arisings you know the answers.

Ready to extend your certification and add another?

·         Have you covered everything?

·         Do you have overlap or unnecessary duplication or complications which have been created?

·         Is it working for your business?

·         Have you understood the requirements of the ISO Standard clauses?

Merged or Contracted Business?

Are you a merged business or a business which has reduced in size or operations and have too many variations on your Management Systems? Is everyone working to their old one, or their own but it’s not really working in your favour?

·         Identify the Vision of the business now and what the plan is for the future.

·         Identify the scope of those operations and the Management System(s) current and accessible.

·         Clarify where overlaps and gaps lie and what can be implemented for a successful Management System.

·         Determine variations in terms, business names and branding.

·         Highlight the focus which is required to have a successful Management System.

·         Potential opportunity to integrate those Management Systems with future benefits built in to reduce auditing time and costs.

·         Have a Gap Analysis which identifies the issues and puts it all into focus.
